We distribute blankets to those experiencing homelessness.

The 300 Blankets blanket are brand new, super warm queen sized polar fleeced blanket and are distributed individually wrapped in a resealable waterproof bag.

What makes these blankets even more special is that some of the blankets distributed in Melbourne also contains heartwarming handwritten messages written by the community, for the community. After all, the blankets are a gift from the community to remind those experiencing homelessness that we see them, want to do something for them, and we care.

Recently we have also developed a partnership with social enterprize STREAT to include free coffee/hot tea cards in some of the blankets distributed in the Melbourne CBD. This is a way to bring even more warmth to people who need it the most.

But there’s never to enough. Our current beneficiaries who help distribute our blankets includes St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria, Hanover Welfare Services, The Royal District Nursing Service – Homeless Person’s Program, Manna Inc and we frequently receive contacts from many other organisations requesting blankets.

You can help now simply by donating directly to 300 Blankets and ensure we will always have blankets to give to those who need it most.

We volunteer to keep our community warm.

300 Blankets is a strong advocate for volunteering. Our mission to keep our community warm extends to the warmth of friendship. Quite often when people are experiencing homelessness, they also lose a connection with the wider community. Our volunteering program educates the community about the realities of homelessness whilst contributing to making a positive difference. It is also through volunteering that gives us the opportunity to hand deliver blankets to people in need.

We educate the younger generation about the realities of homelessness.

With 23000 people experiencing homelessness in Victoria and 10% under the age of 19, it makes so much sense to educate our children about the realities of homelessness. At 300 Blankets we believe that solving homelessness begins through education and having informed leaders so we are always developing and evolving our education program. We work with educational institutions from Primary Schools, Secondary Collages through to Universities.

We are strong believers in sustainability.

Our organisation strives on being lean and working together with other charities to ensure there is no wastage. This extends from working closely with supplier warehouses to reducing the amount of transport required for blanket deliveries.

The blankets we distribute through our fundraising efforts are made from durable materials which are semi water-resistant and come in a reusable bag that can be stored for long term use.

We are also aligned with a number of hotel groups who provide good quality clean products which we forward on to our many beneficiaries.

It is important to 300 Blankets that we do what we can to care for our environment and deliver products that will last.

We continue to work hard to keep our community warm.
